Mendicino to strengthen RCMP oversight board.
"Marco Mendicino expressed a desire to give the board the "independence and autonomy that it needs" -- possibly through legislative amendments -- to ensure adequate supervision."
If such a move is any similarity to British Columbia's so-called "Independent Investigations Office" (https://iiobc.ca/) Mendicino's recommendations will not be independent or non-partisan.
The RCMP's bungling of investigations has been going on for decades as noted in "22 Murders" by Paul Palango
Investigative journalist Palango (Globe and Mail) provides an in depth analysis of the 22 Nova Scotians murdered and the botched investigation which, by all evidence, is covered up by the RCMP with much of the blame directed at Commissioner Lucki.
In the first chapter the author provides background on Canada's mass murders, many of which have long been forgotten by Canadians and many unsolved.
1965 Canadian Pacific Airlines Flight 21 brought down in 100 Mile House, British Columbia by a bomb.
The terrorists were never found.
