I was raised by hateful, racist, bigoted parents. They hated everybody, every religion, every nationality and every skin color.
They hated Jews as well as Catholics, Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs.
They offered no explanation for their beliefs.
They hated the Irish, both northern and the Irish Republic.
They hated Italians because they were Catholic.
They hated the French and often said they had no right to be in Canada (referring to Quebec).
They moved to the California hoping to find others who hated as much as they did.
This is where we parted company. I came home from school and they had moved, leaving no forwarding address.
My meager belongings were piled on the sidewalk. I lived with my friend and his family until I enlisted in the Marine Corp.
My racist parents couldn't find support in California so they moved to Arkansas.
No luck there.
They moved to Reno, Nevada.
No luck there.
San Bernardino, California.
Nope.
Oregon. Nope.
Now they were in their 80's and gave up and decided to wallow in their hatred solo.
