I'm enthralled by numerous comments Obama makes here. One in particular is about refugees.
When Penelope and I were contemplating moving to Vancouver, a Canuck friend sent a news item where Canada welcomed something like 20,000 immigrants in a few months.
There were several interviews with the new Canadians and one in particular brought us to tears. It was a father of three who was asked how it felt to be out of a war zone.
The dad replied, "My children can play outside and not have to worry about being bombed by planes or shot in the playground."
"Canada's military is really good". I used to hear this in the Marine Corp all the time from veterans who fought with Canadian Troops. My fellow Marines hailed their Canadian brothers/sisters' training, commitment and heroism.
