There are numerous incidents where Marines have interceded in robberies, assaults and similar criminality and I was reminded of our collective involvement when interviewing a Washington State Sheriff.

He asked, "What's your interest in this?"

"I'm a Marine."

"Oorah!" And we spent a few moments sharing our history. He too is a Marine.

The topic of crime prevention segued to Clint Eastwood, Dirty Harry and how thousands of officers wished law enforcement was this easy and this gratifying as Eastwood portrays in "Sudden Impact".
