Part truth, part myth, the incident below may have been the prelude to the phrase which segues well into the current "K" Division-Alberta's solving a 47 year old murder and charging a 73 year old suspect.
"It was a Mountie operation that would have made the Royal Canadian Mounted Police publicists proud. Like Sgt. Preston of the Yukon, Fudge had lived up to the RCMP’s official French motto-- “Maintiens le Droit “ (“Uphold the Right”)--and its unofficial code: The Mounties always get their man."

This Alberta case creates a whole knew definition of Close Case Solved! Congratulations to all involved. I also loved reading about the Mounties always getting their man as it reminds me fondly growing up in Montana watching Sgt. Preston episodes. It also reminded me of when I patrolled Glacier National Forest which borders on the Canadian border. My supervisor always quipped, "Say hello to Sgt. Preston if you run into him." Funny guy, my boss.
