The Force says it needs hundreds of officers in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Is it time for Mounties to confine their expertise federally, terminate local policing and have provinces create their own law enforcement agencies similar to Ontario and Quebec?

It seems many Canadian police agencies are experiencing similar difficulties hiring, all seemingly drawing from the same eligibility pool. More people leaving than being hired. One Mountie commented that the negative one sided media coverage of incidents is hurting the RCMP and other agencies.
