Kamloops, British Columbia RCMP Members dropped the net on South Sahali and surrounding area after receiving a 9-1-1 call alerting them to a broken window at a Summit Square business.
The first Member arrived within seconds and others could be seen patrolling the area searching for the suspect believed to be responsible for a number of B&E's in the area.
I refer to the tactic as Dropping the Net as I've participated in numerous such incidents with the RCMP's Rural Crime Watch system; deploying a spike belt, blocking a fleeing suspect's vehicle at a gas station as a Member pulled in front of the suspect's car, offering logistics to Members of their suspect's whereabouts as they bailed and hit the bush, responding to numerous rural alarms, tracking thieves until Members arrived, locating rural training areas for ERT, pushing an empty stroller along a rural road while photographing suspected drug houses and assisting in traffic control during a violent rain storm.
Urban Members may think a citizen's involvement in this manner unorthodox but when you consider some detachment's jurisdiction is close to 100,000 sq. km, the Rural Crime Watch system is invaluable.

Gustafsson was an established and wealthy family whose ancestors immigrated from Norway decades previously and built a financial empire from modest beginnings…the fortune acquired on the backs of Chinese laborers in the eighteen hundreds.
Although long gone, their legacy for acquiring the finer things in life was inherited by their great granddaughter, Adriana, who simultaneously rejected the means by which they amassed their possessions.
The disdain for her family, its wealth and heritage developed during a grade eleven high school World History class where a discussion revolved around British Columbia’s 1800’s era.
Adriana was unable to extricate herself from the shame her family created. She completed high school then left immediately for the University of Zurich where she remained for six years. The Vancouverite used her social position and Israeli cunningness to steal multi-million dollar treasures from those in her family’s social circle.
100% of the revenue from the stolen merchandise was deposited into an anonymous Swiss bank account which executed her anonymous bank transfers to charities, children’s and teenager support groups, women’s resource, and sexual assault centers.
Rebecca Simpson and her partner, Dr. Penelope Barker relocated their investigative business from Santa Barbara, Ca. to Vancouver where they were soon retained by an insurance company to locate a stolen two million dollar Porsche.
Their former colleague Jessica Fukishura relocated her legal practice from Santa Barbara, California to Vancouver and through the benefit of her lucrative retirement income, she is installed as the in-house attorney for the Women’s Centre with zero cost to clients or the Centre.
Vancouver Police officers Treena Barton and Charli Gagnon investigate the professional theft of the Porsche and mid-six figures diamond necklace from a West Vancouver resident.
Members had the culprit in custody by 6 am, just two hours after the last incident was reported.

"Throughout the rest of the morning, we continued to receive reports of business windows/doors being smashed and two vehicle windows being damaged near the Sahali Shopping District,” stated Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP in a news release. “The suspect evaded capture until just before 6:00 a.m
A comical aside. After the Members arrived and obtained the required information I continued on my walkabout. Five minutes later lights flashing and a Member pulled up beside me and jumped out ready to snag me if I boogied.
He hadn't gotten the message that the dude in the ugly orange coat was the complainant😎 I said, "I'm not the guy you want," then explained. He said with a smile, "Oh, I was hoping I was going to make a quick arrest." I laughed and apologized for spoiling his joy, which got him laughing more.
