"WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED
to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and
to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom"

When Madelene Albright was our representative to the UN she asked for intervention in the Bosnian crisis claiming to refuse is to accept the genocide.
They did refuse at which time Albright called Bill Clinton, convinced him of the need to intervene and 2,000 troops were there within hours averting a human disaster.
Albright wrote: "My deepest regret from my years in public service is the failure of the United States and the international community to act sooner to halt these crimes."

Of course. Peace keeping is their mandate but they are slow to respond, when they do.
"Canada and allies should work to gather support among United Nations General Assembly members, including China, for a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, says the country’s ex-ambassador."
Remember, Alan Rock was the politician who altered RCMP records to advance his anti-firearms agenda.
GIVING CHINA AND RUSSIA VETO POWER MADE THE UN SUPERFLUOUS.
"However, Russia holds a veto on that council and has used it to oppose efforts to hold the country accountable for the ongoing slaughter of civilians, now entering its fourth week."

Thank you Laura for this motivating post. As a Marine I recall numerous conversations with those who served in WW2 about America's neutrality and to a person they said not stopping Hitler immediately prolonged the war and lead to millions of unnecessary deaths.
Thanks Laura B. for the post
