"We do not have the capability of engaging Russian submarines or Chinese submarines, if and when that ever becomes a reality," said Huebert, speaking about the Canadian navy's Arctic inventory. "That's the No. 1 capability that the British bring to the Arctic."
Most Canadians and Americans have little or no knowledge of what transpires in the vast Arctic and yet would not be surprised to discover that both Russia and China deploy their nuclear submarines into the area.
The United States Marines train in Canada's far north regularly, some exercises with Canadian Special Forces and others by themselves, but always as an allie.
