Why is the long awaited police response so difficult to understand? When you are assembling illegally and resist police attempts to move you out and you are injured, and you cry FOUL.
The group attempted to steal officers' pistols, threw items at the horses, spit on officers...the list is endless.
What part of this do the participants and their supporters not understand?
I interviewed inmates in maximum security prisons and I recall one very bitter man with a bandage over his forehead. He complained that as he exited the bank with his pistol in one hand and the currency in the other, he wouldn't drop either when instructed to by the ERT officers. He was hit. He dropped both.
"Reports circulating online Saturday claimed someone had died or been injured after being “trampled” by a police horse."
The person posting that claim is known by many to be seeking his 15 minutes.
As a protest veteran in my ignorant youth, I was teargassed along with about 10,000 others.
We deserved it.
We disbursed immediately.
THANK YOU VANCOUVER POLICE OFFICERS AND ALL THE OTHER LEOS WHO CAME TO THE ASSISTANCE OF THEIR COLLEAGUES.
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF CANADIANS ARE OVERWHELMED WITH APPRECIATION.
Our appreciation to the Vancouver Sun for the article and photo
IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO READ OF CITIZEN COMPLAINTS AGAINST VPD OFFICERS CONTROLING STANLEY CUP RIOTERS.
"THIS MAY HURT A BIT"
My favorite photo from the Stanley Cup Rio control officers. I taught the technique.
