A California friend speaks often about their family bunker embedded in their front lawn. The sealed trap door is located by a large oak tree just steps from their front door. It is small by Swiss standards but sufficient to accommodate a family of five for months.

Switzerland is spending 354 million to make sure its network of public and private nuclear shelters are in tip-top shape and ready to accommodate all nine million Swiss residents, should the need arise.
