"A climate activist has smeared the popular woolly mammoth exhibit at Victoria’s Royal BC Museum in pink paint in a call for a citizen’s assembly to address the ecological crisis she says Canada is currently facing.
In a video posted to social media by a new environmental activism group calling itself On2Ottawa, the woman, identified as Laura, can be seen sitting in front of the woolly mammoth with an open jar of paint beside her. Her hand — and the mammoth’s tusks — appear to be stained bright pink.
The group says the campaign is meant to “mobilize Canadians to go to Ottawa to press government to form a Citizens’ Assembly to kick-start action on the #ClimateCrisis.”
