This is my first visit to this site and reading of Marc's creations. For those who don't know, Marc also portrays himself in the "J" Team Series and has a restaurant on the beach in Santa Barbara, California.
Marc Stucki's is a renovated former steak house located two blocks from the beach next to the train station.
He liked the twenty-foot slate wall with a centered gas fireplace, so he kept that but added a massive television screen showing feed from numerous beach web cams situated from Sycamore Creek to the south, and Santa Barbara Point to the north.
They created the railroad theme by positioning period train pieces throughout which coupled well with staff attired in period white jackets, black slacks, and black bowties.
The menu would feature Wyoming beef from former president Bakus’ ranch where Marc had been the executive chef. In addition, he would have a massive salt-water tank in the entry, featuring Dungeness Crab caught each morning by the retired crab fisherman friend of Alejandro’s, a retired Beverly Hills landscaper and a local mover and shaker.
Marc had invited a friend from their days in culinary school and their first apprentice positions in British Columbia, Dereck Johnson. The fusion of their experiences from Canada’s finest restaurants coast to coast with their personal friendship, he was positive would be a winning combination.
I read that in McCormick's seventh novel, Rebecca, Penelope and Marc move to Vancouver and back a Marc Stucki's there maintaining the same décor right by the train station.

Marc decided to maintain the former establishment’s dark paneling, mahogany tables and chairs while adding recessed lighting to create a more family atmosphere while maintaining a sophisticated ambiance.
