Many communities have RCMP organized loss prevention groups such as Neighborhood Watch, Rural Crime Watch & COP-Citizens on Patrol.
I've been involved in each group and experienced first hand the success of their crime prevention influence.
This initiative (Blue Line article), overtime pay aside, requires officers to devote more time to the department at the price of their families and social life.
