"On July 29, 2023, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit identified a rural property in Edson, Alta. where the children were believed to be. The Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team was engaged to assist and entered the property where they located the two children and three adults.
As a result of the investigation, Verity Bolton (45), a recent resident of Yellowhead County, was charged with two counts of Abduction in contravention of a custody order. Abraxas Scherbing-Glazov (53), a recent resident of Yellowhead County, was charged with two counts of Abduction of a person under the age of 14.
On July 29, 2023, both Verity Bolton and Abraxas Glazov were remanded in custody in Alberta. RCMP are currently making arrangements to have them return to British Columbia to appear in court.
RCMP would like to thank the public, media, and other policing and community partners, who all played an important role in this investigation. Over 435 tips were received, from all over Alberta, British Columbia, as far away as New Brunswick.
The children have been reunited with their family."
