The Air Jordan campaign nets Nike $4 billion yearly.
Jordan's deal to receive a percentage of all Nike shoes bearing his name was revolutionary in the industry. The deal was brokered by Michael's Mom who purported to say, "A shoe is just a shoe until my son puts it on."
Jordan is worth an estimated $4 billion.

"In a 2023 interview, Ben Affleck explained the importance of telling a positive, optimistic story: 'What I have to offer here is respect and homage and appreciation for Deloris Jordan and women like her and for her son, who, somehow, managed to seek and capture that incredibly elusive and rare magical genius that we all are so fascinated by and moved by.
And somehow that tells us, 'Maybe I can do something that seems too hard for me to do,' or 'I can deal with a problem that seems overwhelming,' or 'I can accomplish that thing that I dared not dream that I can accomplish,' and I think that's a really important thing for people to have.
Something to hold on to, something to look at.
And I wanted the movie to feel like that.
I wanted to make a story that was hopeful.
That moved people.
But I wanted to make people feel good, and feel as though they could be better, and the world could be better, and think great things can happen."
Michael's parents are portrayed by real life couple Viola Davis & Julius Tennon

I enjoyed the film but took umbrage with the writers who cast Howard White as an uneducated street thug.
The scene at Nike headquarters with Mrs. Jordan I question if the executives behaved in such a caustic manner.
In 2022 Nike sold $5.1 Billion in this one shoe, Air Jordan, thanks to Mrs. Jordan.
